Hey everyone! With the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale buzz starting up again, I figured it’s the perfect time to re-share my review of that Longchamp bag I snagged during last year’s sale. I want you all to really get a feel for the Anniversary Sale vibe and whether some “deals” are truly worth it.
I’ve actually had my eye on this specific Longchamp bag for years. It’s wild to think it started at around $65, then jumped to $85, and now it’s hit the $100 mark. Talk about some serious price gouging! I distinctly remember buying one for like €60 (plus tax refund!) in Europe just a couple of years ago. Ugh.
What’s Up With Longchamp’s Prices?!
And then I recently checked Longchamp’s current prices again… and I almost fell out of my chair! It’s not just this one; it’s all their bags, and it’s definitely a case of malicious price increases. They’re trying to create this “pseudo-affordable luxury” vibe, and honestly, it feels like they’re trying to price us out!
As someone who’s been obsessed with this brand for over a decade and has bought pretty much everything they’ve ever made, I can only say this: the brand is seriously durable. But in my mind, their bags almost never cost more than $90. Now, a tiny bag like this is $100, and it just makes you realize how much times have changed! (I remember that all-leather saddle bag they released a couple of years ago – the one styled after the leather on their tote bags – was only €245 in Europe back then. Now it’s €385! Insane!)
Let’s Talk About This Specific Style
So, for this particular bag, I got it for around $80 after tax during the Anniversary Sale. Plus, I got $10 back in Nordstrom Rewards, so all in all, it wasn’t a total loss. The color is lovely, a sort of dried rose shade.
But honestly? I do not recommend using this as a regular purse. It’s just too small. It’s not a functional bag; it’s purely for organization. They’ve made organizer pouches before, but none were as “successful” as this one, I guess. And I definitely don’t suggest punching holes in it for a strap – the leather area on the sides is so minimal, it just wouldn’t work well.
I totally get why this specific bag has a 1-3 star rating on the Nordstrom website. Everyone’s complaining about its functionality – or lack thereof! It simply doesn’t work as a purse!
This bag is really only suitable if you already own a Longchamp tote and need something to organize the inside.
Bottom line: It’s a cute little “useless” bag!
My Final Verdict for This Year’s Sale
So, this year, for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I’m urging all of you: DO NOT buy this bag! Seriously, this is coming from my own experience.
